How can I recover deleted photos from my memory stick?

Posted by admin on August 4, 2009

I deleted some photos on my digital camera by accident. Now I want to recover them. I know there is software out there that can do this, but I’m having trouble finding reliable software. Before I spend money on buying something to recover the lost images I’d like to see if anyone has had any experience in this area. What software or methods do you recommend?

Whats the best program to recover photos from a memory card?

Posted by admin on July 31, 2009

please help me!!! im looking for a program that is free and lets you save the picture after you recovered it. please let me know! direct link if you can!! thanks!

You can very often recover deleted pictures from a camera memory card or USB Memory stick. However, to increase the chances of being able to recover pictures after they have been deleted you must not save any new photos, files or data to it.

When you delete pictures (or any files) from a memory card or USB memory device the data itself isn’t deleted, just the file system pointers that says where the data for those files is located. The area where the deleted picture data was stored is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it is too late to recover your deleted pictures so it is very, very important that new pictures or files aren’t saved to the memory card in the meantime.

One of the easiest ways to see if your deleted pictures can be recovered is to try some photo recovery software.

One tip is to try a demo version of a commercial product that will scan the memory card for deleted pictures and show you exactly what pictures can be recovered. At least that will show you if you can recover the deleted pictures or if it’s too late already. Flashback - Return from Leahurst…road to recovery

Posted by admin on July 23, 2009

(READ THE DESCRIPTION!!!)
This is the beginning of flashs recovery… read on for more details.
I hate the sound of my voice on tape but i dont care… im just so happy to have him back and will see that he gets the love and attention he needs to mkae a full recovery. Love you little man!x

Anyone who is a friend of mine on Facebook or knows us personally will know this already but for those of you who are youtube followers only this is the story of the last couple of months.
Sorry i didnt tell you before, ive not know how best to explain and wanted a more of the long term story so i didnt have an influx of questions…

In may/june this year we noticed a small lump near flash’s eye… we have been monitoring it ever since and have had the vet a few times…and have been taking photos regularly to monitor it.

On a Tuesday morning in the middle of June I went down to put flash out on arrival I noticed flash had a small area of dried blood part way down his face. He had clearly rubbed the lump by his eye which was now scabbed over on the top. I was also beginning to realise that Flash was far too quiet for him; normally he is almost annoyingly inquisitive wanting to know what you have in your pockets and just generally checking he isnt missing out. But that morning he was subdued not fussed by me messing by his feed bins, just not himself at all.

So I again called the vet she came back out to him and took some blood samples to test the blood and all the photos we had been taking over the last few weeks were sent to the experts at Leahurst horse hospital so they could investigate the problem.

The experts at the hospital came back with their verdict a few days later
My superstar has been diagnosed with a sqaumous cell carcinoma or in plain English skin cancer.

That small lump on his eyelid was a cancerous tumour they said his prognosis was good and they told us what the best course of treatment.

So after a few anxious weeks waiting, weeks of Flash being oblivious to his predicament and me attempting to stay positive, we had a date for his treatment to start Monday the 6th July.

So on Sunday the 5th of July we took flash on the 2hr journey to Leahurst horse hospital. We dropped him off in his stable and the yard staff gave him a huge pile of hay and some water. So with Flash blissfully unaware what the next couple of weeks had in store for him, we left him to make himself at home. I was hard leaving him behind but I knew it was for the best.

The treatment he received involved inserting radioactive wires through the tumour by his eye, which remained there for 10 days period. During those ten days flash was stabled and had very limited contact with any horse or human. The radiation making it unsafe for the yard staff and vets to even muck him out only checked over the door and with no visitors allowed, I had to make do with a phone call every few days to let us know how he was getting on.

In true Flashback style we were informed he took everything in his stride, he apparently remained calm throughout his stay and just to make sure he got some attention has kicked out of the door, basically normal flashy man. Bless him.

So today is the 15th day he has spent at Leahurst and the first time I have seen him since we dropped him off on the 5th of July. The wires have been removed; hopefully having done their job and we have got flash back at home!!!

The next few months will involve him getting lots and lots of TLC. The area around the eye may swell but thats good it means the treatment has done its job

ive been told by the vets that he can, once he is happy in himself, and if the eye is not causing him to much trouble, go back into work, and as soon as he is ready he can begin jumping again.

So I have no idea what the next few months have in store for us, but I have my horse back hopefully happy and hopefully cancer free

And as a friend said to me recently “you cant keep a star down for long. ” : )

This video is of the day we collected Flash from Leahurst… and his happiness to be home is plain to see! :P

I cant tell you much else right now… only time will tell what happens from here, but feel free to ask if you have questions and i will try my best to answer them! x
